| The
association was announced in the magazine “Tekenen &
Schilderen” (Drawing and Painting) in september/october
of 1988 with the name “Het Porselein Schilder Genootschap”
(The Porcelain Painting Association, abbr,: PSG in Dutch). The
introduction was with the following text:
Just as interesting as oilpainting...
Just as nice as painting with watercolours, but different...
That is porcelain painting!
And that still remains!
In october 1987 mrs A. Douma-Boomstra started
in this magazine with articles about porcelainpainting. She was
a founding member of the editorial team. On february 27nd 1988
the Porcelain Painting Association was founded and on may 28th
the executive committee was installed during a general meeting
and the regulations were approved.
On Saturday september 17th the executive committee had their first
information day. It was held on the castle Sypesteyn in Loosdrecht.
Several porcelain painting demonstrations were given and there
were guided tours around the castle.
The association had two pages in the magazine
“Drawing and Painting” which meant that six times
a year announcements, tips and news were published. Every member
of the Porcelain Painting Association received the bi-monthly
magazine.

Also members could send
in ‘splinters’. These are small advertisements for
members to buy or sell porcelain related items. During that period
the Servicetelephone was started. Members could ask questions
about everything related to porcelain painting. In 1990 the association
started with their own newsletter: the “PSG Medium”.
This newsletter still is published every month with lots of porcelain
news and painting examples. The PSG still organizes painting days
and other activities.
