Question : Can you fire a painted porcelain object in a household oven?
Answer : No, porcelain paint is fired at aprox. 800 degrees in a kiln.
     
Question : Can you paint on every white plate or other object?
Answer :

Earthenware plates can damage during firing at high temperatures. Most of the (glazed) porcelain plates often will give good results.

     
Question : What kind of paint can you use?
Answer : There are several colours over-glaze paints. Most of them are powders. These are prepared with oil or waterbased mediums.

Question : Can you mix all colours?
Answer : Yes, nearly all colours can be mixed but be careful with for instance reds. The colour can be reduced or disappear if mixed with yellows.
     
Question : Is it possible to follows lessons to learn how to paint on porcelain?
Answer : Yes, the Dutch Porcelain Painting Association (PSG) has a list of teachers.
